St. Mary's Girls High School was founded in 1930. Since then the school has been imparting quality education to girl students. There are at present 570 students studying in the school in 15 divisions. There are 23 teaching and 4 non-teaching staff and Smt. Soosan V. George serves as the Headmistress.
Achievements in Sports and Co-curricular Activities
The school received the overall Championship in the sub-District competition this year. A Day-boarding center functions at the school as part of the "SampoornaKayikaKshamatha" programme of the state. 20 students received food and specialized training in badminton and cycle polo. 5 students took part in the state championships. It was a proud moment when Shabana. B. Salim of the school was part of the team that won the fifth place in the National Championships.
The school received the first position at the Arts Festival at the sub-District Level. Karthika Krishnan G. was awarded 'A' Grade in the state level competitions. Students were trained in Margam Kali, Group Dance, Ganamela, and other art forms. Students took part in the Science-Maths exhibition and Jyotsana K. Joy participated in the state level competition. Prabha Mariam Joseph of this school represented Pathanamthitta District in the state level BalaShastra Congress. Sherlin Saji, Ansu Mary Varghese, and Priya. M received cash awards at the quiz competitions held as part of the 'Chemistry year' celebrations.
Training and Exhibitions
A school help desk operates to provide all and any assistance needed for the overall development of girl students. Both students and parents receive counseling services from the help desk.
Students are also trained in carry-bag making, lotion making, etc. as part of the work skills enhancement programme.
